It includes the management of elements (barriers, doors, turnstiles, traffic lights, induction loop, license plate recognition and all kinds of validation system terminals), and it allows access via different identification mechanisms (EM125 or Mifare tags, active RFID, passive RFID, fingerprint biometrics, vehicle license, electronic ID cards).
Highlights:
- In-house system, customizable and adaptable to the requirements of each client, because no two needs are the same.
- Variety of access hardware: the system is, basically, hardware-independent, we constantly integrate new devices to our communications protocol.
- On-line and off-line operation. The system works on-line except if there is a failure in communications or the central database.
- Turnkey systems: we take care of the entire project if the customer wants, including: design, civil works, installation, functional adaptation, commissioning, training, and subsequent maintenance. Access control management module.
Main modules
ACTAIS® AC BackOffice
It is the tool that defines the entire system: staff, access permissions for the installation, means of identification, etc. With this application it is possible to make queries to access registry, to sing in new staff, to modify parameters of the application, to generate reports, etc.
ACTAIS® AC Backoffice allows the definition of companies, users, vehicles and means of identification, as well as the physical elements of the installation. There are permissions by user and group of users that allows to grant or deny the access based on: Calendar, timetable, access door, number of allowed daily accesses. The system can generate incidents according to some parameters. Administrators can analyze such incidents and justify, unlock, or block a user's later access based on the information received.
ACTAIS® AC FrontOffice
This is the module used by the access service operators. The complete installation is shown in a general plan that allows us to know the access situation of each door. From each gate access on both lanes are shown, and alerts are reflected via icons that show the status of the physical elements installed in the control panel. Among other features, it allows management in each lane of: manual entry or exit authorization, lock-down or emergency status, access queries via filters, display of associated cameras, etc.
ACTAIS® AC Mobile
Either for the operator's work needs or for the company organization, sometimes it is not possible to operate the system from where the ACTAIS® AC FrontOffice application is installed. ACTAIS® AC Mobile has been developed to facilitate the mobility of the operators, accessing from their phone or mobile terminal to the system’s main features: facility status, gate control, alerts, accesses, etc.
Thanks to its versatility, this system guarantees monitoring from any location in a simple manner.
Totems and Access terminals
Access control projects often require a high customization to meet the needs of each facility.
For this purpose, Ecocomputer has its own design totem, for outdoor use (manufactured in AISIS 316), with a customizable panel and with single or double height (for cars and industrial vehicles).
In these totems the elements that are required in each case are installed: access terminals (own or third party) with their identification peripherals (Mifare, EM125, DNIe, QR), intercom devices, cameras, etc.
Identification Mechanisms
We describe the main mechanisms, usually used on their own, although their use may also be combined with the objective of capturing additional information (for example, license plate recognition may be combined with the use of the RFID identification card to determine both the vehicle and it’s driver).

ID Cards
Usually, a RFID card that the client already has for other uses (parking, company card) is used. The most common methods are the proximity card (EM125 KHz) and the MiFare cards.
License plate recognition
This consists in identifying the vehicle, normally via specific cameras placed on a support at the same height as the license plate.
Biometric Identification
Biometric readers for fingerprint identification. Biometric technology in access control and presence allows a comfortable and secure identification of people.
Electronic DNI
The extension in Spain and other countries of the electronic ID card, with or without contact, opens a new window of possibilities regarding using it as an unequivocal identification mechanism.
Capturing additional information
ACTAIS® allows additional data such as images captured by video cameras, whether overview or top view (for unloading control) to be associated with the access of each vehicle.Field Elements
Access control facilities can count on diverse elements, including the following:

Magnetic detectors and induction loops
These are mechanisms used to identify the presence of a vehicle in the entrance and exit of the facility. They are usually in place before or after the existing barrier or closing ad are elements that initiate the processing flow of vehicle access.
Virtual loops
Sometimes, the use of magnetic loops embedded in the pavement is not practical. In such cases, video cameras are used to detect the presence of an object in the area and launch the processing flow through this.
Traffic lights
As a way of reinforcing the necessity of stopping, as a caution sign and as an entrance sign, 2- or 3-coloured traffic lights are occasionally used. The use of red and green lights on the barrier itself is also frequent to reinforce the stop or go message.

Access barriers
With different speeds and pole sizes, these are the most usual element of any access control. Ecocomputer works with various brands depending on the client’s specifications: swing-off mast, opening speed, nominal work cycles, etc.The use of emergency lighting in the actual barrier pole is also very frequent to avoid unwanted impacts against it.

Bolardos Escamoteables
These are highly secure and robust alternative of access barriers. They usually accompany the installation of fixed pillars to reduce the width of the access lane.
Access doors
The solutions occur through the integration of sophisticated sliding doors, preinstalled metallic doors and vertical turnstiles. When the facility has access doors, overlapping locks are usually installed, which ensure a correct operation.

Turnstiles and Passageways
The use of these elements has increased in passenger transport stations at the entrance of offices, sports facilities, and public buildings. The variety of options is enormous, from turnstiles to lateral or swinging hinged opening door passageways. The passageways can be configured as one-way or two-way, of normal width or to allow for Persons with Impaired Mobility.

Integrated video surveillance
The elements of video surveillance, using the ACTAIS Video Server module, also add to providing valuable information to the facility’s control operator from the actual access control application.Ecocomputer carries out the integration of the Bosch devices, the model in other professional CCTV systems and other prestigious firms, in its systems.

Digital and analogue Interphones
As with video surveillance, the integration of IP interphones into access control systems is increasingly more frequent. Ecocomputer provides information posts with external anti-vandal interphones that connect with the operations or security office of the facility through completely IP systems from Cisco and other SIP manufacturers.
Access posts
When the use of a card as an identification method is opted for in access control, it is necessary to avail of reading devices in some posts, whether of car height or of double height (cars and lorries).
Access points
They are frequently used for pedestrian control in their use of pedestrian doors or turnstiles. Being our own design, they adapt to the needs of each client, optionally incorporating interphone elements.
