The City Council of Ponferrada has awarded to Ecocomputer the supply, installation and start-up of an access control system with vehicles to pedestrian zones through automatic recognition of license plates.​
This system is based on our ACTAIS® platform and, in particular, the ACTAIS® Traffic module.​

The system will be installed in some of the most emblematic streets of the city:

• Access to the Old Town by the Plaza de las Nieves.
  
• Access to the Old Town on Cruz de Miranda Street.
  
• Access to the Old Town on Gil and Carrasco Street.
  
• Access to the Old Town on Calle Esteban de la Puente.
  
• Access to the Avenida de España at the junction with Avenida del Castillo.
  
• Access to the Avenida de España at the junction with Argentina.
  
• Access to Calle la Paz.

The access control of each node is based on the installation of two video cameras, one of context and another for recognition, that allow to identify the vehicles that access the pedestrian zones and send their license plates to the control unit for processing. From each event, several photographs of the vehicle and its registration are stored as well as a video sequence of the access.
The police officer can consult and confirm penalties through the web interface of ACTAIS® Traffic FrontOffice or from his Smartphone, thanks to the module ACTAIS® Traffic Mobile.​
